Reasons to stay in your student accommodation over summer

Enjoy city-centre living for less

Staying in your student accommodation over summer allows you to enjoy city living for less. Unite Students properties are conveniently located near uni campuses, city centres and transport links are conveniently on your doorstep. With bills all included, you don’t need to worry about anything other than making this a summer to remember.

Have a summer with your mates

One of the huge benefits of uni is the social element and making memories with your new friends. During term time, you may find you don’t have as much time to let off steam before Monday rolls around and it’s time for your 9am lecture. Staying in your student accommodation over summer allows you to spend quality time with your mates without your uni commitments hanging over your head.

Work experience or internships

If you’re studious and want to get a head start, why not seek out work experience/internship opportunities. It’s likely that there’s lots of companies looking for help over the summer.

This is a great opportunity to build on your skills and your CV. Making money can help you sustain your uni life and take some pressure off for when term starts up again. Alternatively, an internship can help you figure out if a profession is for you and help you brush up on some transferable skills.

Live like a local

Having that extra time in the city allows you to experience what it’s like to live there as a local. It’s an opportunity to escape the student bubble and see what the area is really like. The best way to get to know a city is to get out there and explore what it has to offer.

Whether it be visiting the art galleries and museums, taking a stroll through a nature park or checking out that café that’s always booked up during term time, summer is the perfect opportunity to experience the charm of your university city. Why not take this opportunity to explore and find out more about your home.
