Absolutely. Any works being carried out are non-mandatory recommendations from this year's independent fire risk assessment. We don’t have to carry out these changes, but as a responsible landlord we feel it is the right thing to do.
As part of the planning around these works we carefully review the safety plans for the building and ensure that we able to maintain all regulations and standards whilst doing this work.
We’d like to stress that none of our buildings have the same brand or system of external facade as the material used on Grenfell Tower. Our buildings remain safe to occupy and the recommendations made in the audit are not mandatory.
The works are being carried out by Topek Southern Limited (TSL), Topek and RG. While on site, contractors will follow government guidance on Covid-safe ways of working. As part of this, they will adhere to social distancing rules, wear face coverings where needed and maintain high levels of hygiene.
